Welcome to winchester PUBWATCH
The original scheme was launched in December 1997. Today, PubWatch has grown to become more relevant than ever before.
The initiative Chairman is Alex Vassilakis of the Porthouse Nightclub, Vice Chair is Dominic Humphries of the Old Gaolhouse and scheme co‑ordinator is Keith Wilson of Winchester City Centre Partnership. There are currently over 35 licensed premises working together within PubWatch.
The Role of PubWatch
1. An action forum, bringing together representatives of the license trade with Winchester Police, Winchester City Council, the licensing authority and Winchester City Centre Partnership.
2. To protect and enhance the local economy of Winchester
3. Working together to reduce crime, the fear of crime and anti social behaviour within the city centre
4. To coordinate effective measures in dealing with criminal and antisocial behaviour on and off members premises.
5. To manage an effective exclusion order scheme targeting persistent offenders
6. To represent the interests of members
