The City will be buzzing this summer…
After attending the Best of British Festival Launch back in March, I can’t stop getting excited about all of the events and festivals that Winchester has to offer this year. A fantastic presentation and video showcasing The Best of British in Winchester this year was shown at the launch and it truly represents Winchester in a nut shell – a fabulous piece of work by Winchester City Council Tourism team. (Click here to view the video).
The City is becoming a cultural hub for festivals and events that appeal to everyone. Whether you love live music – classical or country – or enjoy film, drama, street theatre, guest speakers, food, drink, shopping or concerts; Winchester certainly doesn’t fall short.
With many other Towns and Cities across Hampshire celebrating the Queens Jubilee and the Olympics, I can’t help but think that Winchester, with all its heritage and culture, will be at the forefront of activity. The Community Live site in the Winchester Cathedral grounds is going to be a fantastic way to watch the Olympics live – maybe I will be able to escape the office at lunchtime to do a spot of shopping and watch the games live with friends.
An exciting time indeed and I can’t wait!
